how to remove other in ipad capacity

What is in the capacity, other on the ipad? Is there a way to see, edit, delete some or all of it? ipad/Wi-Fi iPhone OS 3.1.3...|capacity-ipad

My ipad i just updated from 4.2.1 to 4.3.1 and now itsa saying im over capacity by .5Gb and its all something called other that is in the yellow bar and its showing almost 6Gb. Can any explain why the ipad has a 64gb capacity but when connected to itunes only has 59 capacity when everything has been synced, obviously i know how much is left somthing like 4GB but the capacity indictor on the ipad home screen says it has capacity for 59.-- odd GB not the full 64GB macbook pro Mac OS X (10.6.3)...|ipad-capacity

I have a 32GB ipad and I am not using very much of the space. I have one video synced and some photos, but no music. My Apps have some files in them, but none of considerable size, certainly none over 1 GB. The problem is that iTunes is reporting that 6.2 GB is taken up by the other category. Im not sure exactly what falls under this categorization. I cant seem to get this 6.2GB back. But for some reason there is 6.2GB of junk on my ipad.Is it true if you do a backup that it DOESNT backup your apps? I want to keep my apps. I spent a looong time looking for them and downloading them and it wont do a restore if I cant backup my apps. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I had roughly 1GB of available capacity on my 16GB ipad BEFORE installing the 4.2 update. I had a large photo library, mainly photos downloaded directly to the ipad from a digital camera, ie not synced to the ipad from my iMac via iTunes/iPhoto.
